You Have The Power! (YHTP!) was developed in 2004 by PROJECT CHANGE teen members who wanted to take action to reduce bullying among students in their community. The PC students were awarded a grant from Youth Venture to launch YHTP! in 2005.
The program features teen mentors working with younger students (middle and elementary) after school to raise awareness about characteristics, risks, and consequences of bullying. Teen mentors help younger kids learn about bullying prevention and develop a project to bring this valuable information to their schoolmates.
YHTP! has been implemented at middle and elementary schools in Montgomery County, Maryland. Teen participants have presented YHTP! at local, state, national, and international
