Dear Parents and Students:

At Project Change we are busy planning our summer programs - Team of Stars Camp and Student Leadership Institute - during the Covid-19 Pandemic and are hopeful they will take place!

Registration is open for both programs. We encourage you to register and reserve your child's place. If the Covid-19 Outbreak prevents these programs from taking place, your registration fee will be fully refunded.

For Details and to Register for Team of Stars Camp or Student Leadership Institute Click Here .

In the meantime, below you will find at-home service projects for your child(ren) by the Program Manager for the Project Change Service Initiative. While we are unable to provide SSL hours ("students cannot earn SSL hours for any service work completed in a private residence"), these projects will help students tap into their ability to "give back" during this very challenging time.

Also next week we will share with you the Survey for the Project Change Service Initiative. Students should complete this by no later than April 30! Survey results are used to improve our program and seek funding from grantors.

For student members of our Team of Stars program, below are links to online theater activities provided by the teaching artists who lead the classes at middle schools in the County.

During this crisis, we need community more than ever.  And we hope  you’ll support Project Change in one of 3 ways listed below, as we continue to work to empower students to be agents for positive change in their communities by providing them with the necessary skills and experiences to help them succeed.

# 1 Project Change is raising funds for our part-time furloughed instructors who teach the Team of Stars After-School program at middle and elementary schools in the County. We are asking everyone to help us help them through this crisis period by donating whatever amount you can afford to Power2Give . Your donation will be matched dollar for dollar by the Arts & Humanities Council of Montgomery County

# 2 We are gearing up for #GivingTuesdayNow on May 5, 2020 – a global day of generosity in response to the COVID-19 crisis, with a goal to raise $2,000. And we need your help!

This campaign will also include opportunities for Project Change to win prizes throughout the day based on the number of donors we have. Called “Power Hours,” these opportunities give us a chance to win additional cash support for our organization. Project Change's Power Hours will be from  2-4 and 8-9pm. If we win the 2-4pm Power Hour giving challenge, we’ll receive an additional $1,000; if we have the most donors of all participating organizations across the whole day, we’ll win $2,000 in additional support.

Here’s how you can help us reach our goal this #GivingTuesday and succeed in the Power Hour opportunities:

  • Donate through our page :  Every amount counts!

  • You can also share information about the campaign with your colleagues, family, and friends.

  • Share our campaign on social media! Use hashtags #GiveLocalTogether  #GivingTuesdayNow   #ProjectChangeMD

Supporting Project Change on #GivingTuesdayNow (May 5th) is one way to demonstrate community. It is a chance to show that our organization and our community will emerge from this crisis stronger than before, more resilient and ready for the challenges at hand. We hope you’ll join us and show the power of generosity in the Greater Washington region.

# 3 Donate a Vehicle. Project Change needs your support, especially now. We understand making a financial gift may not be an option during these uncertain times, but we accept vehicle donations, too! Cars, trucks, RVs and even boat donations can provide the support needed for our 5 quality programs. Donating is easy, the pick-up is free, and your generous gift is tax-deductible. Visit ProjectChangeMD NOW to learn more. #coronavirus. Just look for the "Donate a Vehicle" button at the top right of the homepage. It's super easy!
