Project Change Service Initiative (PCSI)
Project Change facilitates school-based service clubs for middle and high school youth to enable them to tap into their passions by selecting, designing and implementing community service projects for causes that are meaningful to them.
At-Home Service Projects During the Covid-19 Quarantine
Below you will find at-home service projects. While we are unable to provide SSL hours ("students cannot earn SSL hours for any service work completed in a private residence"), these projects will help students tap into their ability to "give back" during this very challenging time.
A.) Create a motivational video for youth dealing with isolation during the coronavirus outbreak. If a parent signs the permission form, your video will be posted on the Project Change website. Request a permission form by emailing email@example.com. Use the same email address to send your video. Please provide:
--Tips on staying positive
--Coping skills when you get upset
--Creative things to do at home
B) Create e-cards or thank you notes to:
--Health care workers
--Grocery store workers
C) Go through your closet and bag up clothes you don't wear anymore to donate to the community's homeless population.
D) Create a "30 Day Acts of Kindness Challenge". With your parent's permission you can find a May 2020 calendar online or design one of your own. May 1 is on a Friday.
--Create the calendar poster
--Share it with Project Change, friends, students and family members. Project Change will post it on its website
Warm wishes for health and safety for you and yours!
